Ward of Whispers

An abandoned institutional corridor stretches into shadow, its turquoise walls worn by time and slowly reclaimed by creeping vines.

Tall arched windows cast pale light across the tiled floor, while hanging lanterns glow softly beneath the vaulted ceiling. Old doors stand along the hallway, some closed and some slightly open, suggesting rooms that have remained untouched for years.

Weathered medical signs, an eye chart, glass bottles, books, wooden tables, and a lonely bench preserve traces of the people who once passed through the ward. Nature has begun to move back in, curling around window frames, crossing the ceiling, and softening the cracked walls.

Ward of Whispers captures the uneasy stillness of a place that feels empty but not entirely silent. The corridor invites the viewer forward, yet the dark doorway at the far end keeps its history hidden.

Cool turquoise, blue, and gray tones create a haunting atmosphere, balanced by the warmer wood and small lantern lights. The result is mysterious rather than violent—a forgotten place suspended between decay, memory, and new growth.
